VEO supplies A 145/36 KV wind farm substation to Ellevio. Ellevio is a Swedish electricity distribution company, which serves approximately 934 000 households and businesses through a network of 11 600 kilometres of power lines.

VEO completed its first supply to Ellevio in 2015. Since then, VEO and Ellevio have worked together on eight projects, and Ellevio is one of VEO´s key customers in Sweden. The newest substation will be completed in June 2018, and it is the third substation VEO delivers to Ellevio´s wind farms. The project is a turnkey delivery – covering everything from the excavation work to connecting to the network. The new substation connects an 18-turbine wind farm to the grid. The installed capacity of the wind farm is 65 MW, and its estimated annual production is 244 GWh.

VEO is using its modular substation solution for the project. That means that we assemble and test the system in the factory, and only do final installations on site. With the modular solution, the project is carried out efficiently and safely. Power companies in Sweden are actively investing in the power distribution network and looking for new ways to work. The modular solution makes our projects fluent and keeps the prices competitive. In-house structural planning makes it easy to always tailor the solutions for the customer. The Nordics are a vital market area for our substation department. We have many wind power substation projects going on in the Nordics, and modular solutions play a big part in them.
