VEO improved the safety of the operational staff at ESB’s Power Plant. The Electricity Supply Board, ESB, is a state-owned electricity company in Ireland and is the owner of Corby Power Plant.
VEO designed and installed an arc flash protection system for Corby Power Plant. An arc flash can cause power outages and extensive material damage, result in loss of business and endanger the safety of personnel. VEO took care of the whole project, using the arc flash detection and protection systems of Vamp. VEO has long experience of arc flash protection, and the cooperation with ESB has been going on for many years.
Improving the safety of machinery in use is demanding. Installing the products for Corby Power Plant required precise planning and constant cooperation with the customer. It was also crucial to have good knowledge of the products and processes of the customer. The project proved that VEO is capable of building arc flash protection for existing electrical systems. Thanks to our careful planning and project management skills we succeeded in improving plant safety and reducing the loss of business. The customer was satisfied!
