VEO has delivered a turnkey solution for the electrification of the 197.4 MW Guleslettene wind park, located on the west coast of Norway. The wind park, owned by asset manager Black Rock, has been producing electricity to Norwegian production plants since October 2020.
VEO’s delivery contained system studies with pre-engineering, detail engineering, a high-voltage substation including civil works and power transformer, medium-voltage switchgear as well as protection and control systems installed and commissioned.
Black Rock is one of the world’s largest asset managers and a leading investor in renewable energy.
“VEO has significant experience in the wind and power sector in Norway, and we were therefore confident to work with them on the Guleslettene wind project. VEO lived up to our expectations; the cooperation ran smoothly throughout the project and all deliveries were made on time”, says Fredrik Norell, portfolio manager in the Renewable Power investment team at BlackRock Real Assets.
Zephyr, one of Norway’s leading wind park developers and operators, managed the construction project and is also in charge of the operation. Guleslettene is the largest wind park project for Zephyr to date with its annual power production equivalent to the consumption of 40 000 Norwegian households.
”VEO is an experienced supplier of electrical solutions for both hydro and wind power plants in the Nordic region and has, with its delivery, helped us to supply one of Norway’s largest wind farms at the right quality.”
“We have been very pleased to have VEO as a partner and supplier of the electrotechnical part of the project. VEO is an experienced supplier of electrical solutions for both hydro and wind power plants in the Nordic region and has, with its delivery, helped us to supply one of Norway’s largest wind farms at the right quality”, says Olav Rommetveit, Managing Director at Zephyr.
Managing Director Viktor Forss at VEO AS is proud that VEO has been part of a project of this size:
“Being Zephyr’s largest development project, and, with BlackRock as the investor, this once again confirms that VEO is a reliable and preferred partner for wind park electrifications in the Nordics”.
